Letter to Citizens

Cammack Committed. This is our shared vision for Cammack Village as we look to the future with a priority of maintaining public safety and community.

The Cammack Village City Hall and Police Station is in poor shape. Our facilities are not only an unpleasant eye sore when you drive by, but the issues impair our ability to provide continued police protection and city services. The lack of an ADA compliant space that meets national law enforcement standards limits our ability to recruit and retain police officers. Without an adequate space for our police officers, we risk not maintaining our independent and accredited police force. The aging space also impacts our ability to provide city administration and community engagement.

We recognize most citizens have few reasons to visit City Hall, so we are hosting open tours for you to visit with City officials and see the challenges, while also viewing the proposed plans for a new City Center. The proposed City Center will provide the facilities we need to propel us into the future and maintain our police force and city services, provide space for community events, as well as additional park space. We want your feedback as we continue the conversation about a potential millage increase, as Cammack has no sales tax revenue and limited funding streams. Presently, a millage increase is our only viable option to build a new City Center. We welcome you to join the conversation and attend the City Hall tour or attend one of the other upcoming City Council meetings to discuss the millage proposal.

For Cammack,

Mayor Cody Kees
