Dear Neighbor,
Election Day is upon us, and we hope you make a plan to vote if you have not already voted early. Note the current forecast calls for a chance of rain! Polls will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5 at Cammack Village City Hall. Don’t forget to bring a valid form of identification!
We have enjoyed the opportunity to share the vision for the proposed new City Center that will improve our city’s accessibility, functionality and beauty. We’ve had conversations with hundreds of our neighbors throughout the last several months, and it is clear that we have a strong, engaged community.
Neighbors have asked recently about the cost of this tax after seeing confusing numbers thrown around. So, we thought we share a little factual background on property taxes that may alleviate some concerns on the effect of your home’s budget.
2022 was the last year homes in Cammack Village paid a road improvement district (RID) tax with the average home paying around $416 per year. The RID provided much needed upgrades to our roads and stands ready should the need arise for future road projects.
An additional tax reduction implication to consider- in 2022, the state of Arkansas homestead tax exemption was only $375.
Here is the good news!
In 2024, the homestead tax exemption will be increased to $500.
The road improvement district (RID) debt has been paid and the fee removed.
Why does this matter to you? By voting “FOR” the special election for the city of Cammack Village- you’re supporting our city, and taking on a millage increase that is partially offset by the recent reductions above. For the majority of homes in Cammack Village, these offsets could exceed the cost of the millage!
We don’t want anyone to vote with incomplete information. If you would like to talk through your home’s specific taxes, feel free to email CammackCommitted@gmail.com.
Respectfully,
The Cammack Committed Campaign Committed
